COVID-19: 46 travelers among 417 fresh cases, J&K tally mounts to 24,390 | KNO

Srinagar district alone has more cases than entire Jammu region, Recovery rate over 68 percent in UT

Srinagar, Aug 08 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded 417 fresh cases of COVID-19 pandemic including 46 travelers, taking the total number of positive cases in the UT to 24,390. With 417 new cases, the tally of positive cases in J&K has reached to 24,390 including 18,908 from Kashmir and 5,482 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 417 new cases, 382 belong to Kashmir division while as 81 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 18,908 including 12,975 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 5,482 including 3,692 recoveries and 34 deaths. The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,264 including 5,508 from Kashmir division and 1,756 from Jammu division. With 449 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 16,667 which is 68.33 percent of the total cases. Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 6,000 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 5,482 "Cases tested positive in J&K include 178 from Srinagar, 20 from Baramulla, 38 from Pulwama, 01 from Kulgam, 06 from Shopian, 23 from Anantnag, 61 from Budgam, 21 from Kupwara, 10 from Bandipora and 24 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 81 from Jammu division include 40 from Jammu, 15 from Kuthua, 02 from Rajouri, 01 from Udhampur, 07 from Samba, 12 from Poonch and 04 from Kishtiwar, " officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 6,000 positive cases including 149 deaths and 3,459 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,093 including 79 deaths and 1,614 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1,807 including 1,044 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Pulwama,1,594 including 1,410 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,514 including 24 deaths and 1,308 recoveries are from Shopian, 1,521 including 32 deaths and 1,176 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,523 including 1,041 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Budgam, 1,230 including 972 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Kupwara, 972 including 611 recoveries and 17 deaths are from Bandipora and 654 including 340 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 1,513 including 790 recoveries and 23 deaths are from Jammu district, 756 including 522 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Rajouri, 576 including 534 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 589 including 484 recoveries and 01 death are from Kuthua, 619 including 414 recoveries and two deaths are from Udhampur, 485 including 315 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 302 including 253 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 265 including 173 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 214 including 80 recoveries are from Reasi and 163 including 127 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 388,741 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 42,012 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,264 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 291,702 persons have completed surveillance period and 47,304 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 706,780 samples are available. Out of 706,780 the number of samples tested negative stands at 682,390 while as 24,390 have been tested positive, among them 7,264 are active and 16,667 persons have recovered—(KNO)
